Upcoming events

Discerning a call? The Commission on Ministry will hold its next Vocation Information Day on Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at Church of the Ascension in Clearwater. The gathering is to assist all those interested in the development of their ministry, whether as a layperson, deacon or priest. The day will include lunch and a closing Eucharist. Attendance does not require the permission of your rector or vicar, nor does such attendance imply the approval of the Commission for admittance to the ordination process. Applications for the ordination process will not be distributed.

Canned labyrinth: A community food drive in Clearwater called “We CAN With Our Own Two Feet” is planned Sunday, Oct. 12 to benefit the Religious Community Services food pantry. Several area churches, including Church of the Ascension and Good Samaritan in Clearwater will be host sites featuring a labyrinth laid out and lined with canned goods. Everyone is invited to contribute at least enough cans to equal the length of their own two feet. Participants will have the opportunity to walk the labyrinth in prayer for those who give and those who receive. The donations will be blessed and delivered to RCS.

For programs, workshops and guided walks, or to set up a temporary labyrinth at your church, contact certified labyrinth facilitator and spiritual director Debra McMaster at (727) 799-0082.
