The dioceses of Louisiana and Mississippi have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support shown to us in the generous in-gathering at the Ecumenical Worship Service held during the House of Bishops meeting in New Orleans. While the presence of the Archbishop of Canterbury was indeed a highlight, the image of so many of our brother and sister bishops moving in procession to give sacrificially of their diocesan resources for the work and ministry in our region was truly a sight to behold.

On behalf of Bishop Duncan Gray, and the people of Mississippi and Louisiana, I want to thank you for your gift of $10,000 to be split between the two dioceses. These funds will be of great help to us as we continue to strive to fulfill the mission Christ has put before us in these post-Katrina days. Please pass our thanks on to the people of your diocese.

Our prayer for you is that God will richly bless you as you have blessed us. May the peace of our savior be with you this day, and always.
