Letter: Stewardship of the Earth transcends politics

I was surprised to learn from Ernie Ryder’s letter (“Southern Cross’ liberal bias is showing,” Jan./Feb. issue) that scriptural admonitions to be stewards of God’s creation are a liberal political agenda in the United States. If so, then let us thank God that liberals (whatever that term means) take their Bible seriously.

As for global warming, wishful thinking and personal political ideology don’t trump science. The IPAA, an international organization of hundreds of scientists whose research is peer-reviewed by hundreds of other scientists, agreed more than a decade ago that global warming is a fact and that humanity’s abuse of God’s creation is a major cause of it.
