School for Ministry Development

The Diocese of Southwest Florida welcomes you to its School for Ministry Development.

Our focus is to serve anyone who desires to expand their knowledge, enhance their Christian journey or pursue either a lay license or the vocational diaconate.

What makes this school different from our previous diocesan schools? First, we offer courses for anyone wishing to grow in their Christian journey. Second, the school is designed to let people participate in individual daylong courses rather than obligate themselves to a semester of study. Third, we will be offering three distinct curriculums:

1. The School of General Christian Studies;
2. The Pastoral Care/Congregational Resources; and
3. The School of Diaconal Formation and Continuing Education for Clergy.
