Featuring author Sam Wells, dean of the chapel at Duke University and research professor of Christian ethics at Duke Divinity School. The schedule will be similar to the recent past years. September 18: Fresh Start Meeting (Clergy and Lay)
Topic: Planning for Effective Ministry
Goal: Provide participants with a model for planning as spiritual discipline and identify what planning is happening in their congregations. Clarity of mission and vision are the foundations for good goal-setting, and on-going review and reflection are needed to keep focused on God's call.

September 19: "The Gift of Music"
The Sanctuary Choir of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church will feature the work of Alfred V. Fedak “The Gift of Music.” in concert. Following the concert will be an afternoon tea hosted by the Episcopal Church Women. The suggested donation of $10 will help support the costs of a commissioned work to be performed early December in celebration of Advent. The composer builds on the theme “dances with joy” to the pinnacle of the proverbial saying, “If you can talk, you can sing, if you can walk, you can dance.”

St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte is hosting a Pet Expo with an animal blessing. There will be vendors showcasing their products or services, demonstrations by a law enforcement K-9 unit, and two services to bless the animals, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
