Youth Event
Peer Ministry Training
Episcopal youth are invited to train to become peer ministers for other young people by developing, listening, friendships, and learning to serve as small group facilitators. The training provides opportunities for youth to develop ministry skills, whilst deepening their faith by developing a lifelong ethos as servant ministers.

The ultimate goal and mission is...."Kids Ministering to Kids."

Train to be a Peer Minister for other youth through listening friendships and as small group facilitators. This highly experiential retreat uniquely gives youth caring ministry skills they will begin using with their friends, families, and communities. Peer Ministry has nothing to do with age, it is about putting oneself on the same level as another person and caring in Christ's name.

WHAT IS PEER MINISTRY?  ......Peer Ministry is a way of Life!

It is the habitual practice of doing unto the least of these. - Matthew 25:40

  • It is the Good Samaritan story. Instead of preaching and teaching it, you get the skills necessary to live it.
  • It is not a job, it is an attitude.
  • It is taking what concerns you the most.....Friendships! .....and lets you discover relationships are ministry.
  • While others talk about ministry in committees, while others equate ministry with microphones, Peer Ministers learn to live ministry in quiet, caring, and welcoming ways.
  • It is not a program. It is the vital relational core that energizes all other ministry with peers, families, programs, and communities.
  • Participants grow in the midst of mutual sharing of both life's strengths and weaknesses - regardless of age, wisdom, knowledge, authority, or expertise

Peer Ministry training empowers through:

  • Quality training in caring skills
  • Commitment to growth in faith and values
  • Christian service to other people
  • A life long attitude of ministry
