If you would like to make a difference in this world, step outside your comfort zone and learn more about the world, the Church and God, the Episcopal Church offers many opportunities for young adults to do just this. The Office of Young Adult Ministry has many resources and programs for both domestic and international mission/internship opportunities.

The YASC program offers young adult Episcopalians, aged 20-30 years, one-year assignments to work with a local church (or church-founded institution/program) as well as a component of guided reflection and mentoring. The program intends to bring young adults into the life of the Anglican Communion and into the daily work of a particular community. It also intends to bring the resources of the church into the lives of younger people as they explore down what paths their faith may be leading them. The emphases of YASC include cultural engagement, spiritual commitment, and vocational reflection lived out together in a work of service.

Short-Term Domestic Internship Program (SIP)

  • Ever considered engaging God’s mission in a different part of the USA?
  • Thought that year-long mission internships were too long to consider seriously?
  • Would you like to make a difference by giving service to people in need?

If you answered “yes” to any or all of these questions, you should consider one of the following Short-term domestic Internship Programs for Young Adults (SIP), offered in eight week terms throughout the year.

Young Adult Internship Programs In the USA

A wide variety of programs offering young adults the opportunity to broaden their horizons domestically without ever leaving the United States. The programs are based on spiritual formation and discernment by providing a place to live the gospel message through service within the context of a gathered, intentional Christian community of their peers.

The Global Episcopal Mission Network (GEM Network) is an association of dioceses of the Episcopal Church, together with partner dioceses throughout the Anglican Communion, who have determined to share prayers, ideas, dreams, hopes, and strategies about Global Mission. In essence it is mostly people - diocesan leadership - committed to the expansion of the Global Mission of the Episcopal Church.
