This year\, we will welcome Richard Rogers Partner and Senior Vice President of Horizon Stewardship\, as our workshop leader.\n\nThe workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch. Register here: https://episcopalflorida.wufoo.com/forms/mund4nc1oxg23q/\n\nMore about our speaker: Richard Rogers\n\nPartner and Senior Vice President \nRichard brings a unique blend of business savvy\, ministry experience\, and passion for the local church to his work with Horizons. Early in his career\, Richard worked as a manager for a Fortune 500 company\, developing young managers into leaders and encouraging them to pursue their potential. Now\, with over 25 years of experience working with pastors and church leaders\, Richard’s aspiration is raising levels of discipleship\, particularly in the area of generosity\, to enable God’s vision to become a reality. Throughout Richard’s tenure in the local church\, his leadership and focus on faith development helped his congregation experience a 70% increase in giving. \nDuring his ministry with Horizons\, he has partnered with churches across a variety of denominations and geographic regions in successful capital campaigns raising over $150 million. He has also worked with clients in annual campaigns and coaching agreements to increase regular giving to strengthen their culture of stewardship\, giving\, and generosity. His Next Level Generosity coaching references include numerous churches\, an Episcopal Diocese\, and the Superintendent of a K-12 private Christian school. \nRichard is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF)\, who uses his expertise to help his clients successfully navigate the complex landscape of resource development through annual\, special\, capital\, and planned giving initiatives. \nRichard is the author of Generational Generosity (NK Publishing\, 2022)\, and The E-Giving Guide for Every Church: Using Digital Tools to Grow Ministry (Abingdon Press\, 2016). Generational Generosity is a discipleship resource in a three-week devotional framework. Richard demonstrates the uniqueness of stewardship\, giving\, and generosity\, and takes the reader on a journey toward and beyond the lifetime impact of generosity. The E-Giving Guide is a resource for churches to help them effectively shift into the digital age of giving. Breaking down industry jargon and the myriad of options\, Richard offers a plan to easily and effectively incorporate e-giving into the daily life of the church.

SUMMARY:Fall Clergy Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The Fall Clergy Retreat is an important time for the clergy of the Diocese of Southwest Florida to gather for prayer\, worship\, fellowship\, and reflection. The theme for this year’s retreat is drawn from the familiar passage in John 15\, in which Jesus compares his relationship with his disciples to that of a vine and branches. This is also where Jesus declares the seventh and final “I AM” statement\, “I am the True Vine\,” and describes the life of discipleship as a life of abiding in Christ and his love. Bearing fruit (productivity) is the outgrowth of a life deeply embedded in Christ. We invite you to join Bishop Scharf as we reflect more deeply on our call to abide in Jesus\, not as a passive escapism from the woes of the world\, but as the source of abundant life that shapes and empowers our public witness. \n
